Arguably, the best month in Los Angeles for weather is October. The days are still warm, but the nights are cooler. Our outside parties have been fortunate to have perfect October weather. So, on Sunday, October 6th, 6 PM, we will sponsor another dinner/dance at my home, 4145 Nogales Dr, Tarzana, CA 91356.

Those who have attended our Labor Day and July 4th weekend events know that we have averaged about 90 people for our last two events there. We will continue to do our best to reach out to more boomers in the Los Angeles area so that we can get even greater quantity and diversity of people participating as possible. Our last event had participants from more than 15 different singles organizations, Meetup groups, dancing clubs, travel organizations, hiking groups, dining groups, matchmakers, dating & life coaches, etc. At least 40% of the people present for the Labor Day event had never been to one of our parties. Hopefully, we will see you there. And, please tell those that you know whether you can make the event or not.

Our entertainment for the night will be the local favorite, The Donald Dean Band. This trio has been entertaining at clubs, singles organizations and private parties for years. Check them out at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9UXA0v8nU8. We saw them recently at the Social Circle’s event at the Stephen Wise Temple. They were also the featured entertainment for our Memorial Day weekend event this year.

Salads Galore- Over the years we have always included some very creative and tasty salads at our events. Many have been of true gourmet quality. So, we thought that we’d change things up a bit and offer you the best of these servings.

Here’s what we will serve:

Mixed greens salad w vegetables-Field greens with mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, onions, walnuts, olives, celery, carrots and Italian dressing.

Pesto Chicken Penne Salad-Chunks of chicken breasts, black olives, cherry tomatoes, pine nuts, penne pasta and pesto sauce.

Thai Peanut Salad With Shrimps-Baby Shrimps, shredded carrots, sliced almonds, linguini and Thai peanut sauce (Cheesecake Factory)

Italian Pasta Salad with Sun Dried Tomatoes-Bow tie pasta (farfalle), black olives, pine nuts, sun dried tomatoes, olive oil, parmesan cheese.

Endame Salad-Choice cooked endame with brown rice, diced red peppers, sliced almonds, canola oil, toasted sesame oil, sweet chili sauce.

Antipasto Pasta Salad-Genoa salami, pepperoni sausage, rotini pasta, artichokes, garbanzo beans, Asiago cheese, red and green bell peppers, black olives, chopped red onions, cherry tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, oregano, parsley.

We’ll add bottled water and soft drinks as well.

Be sure and reserve early to hold your spot. No more than 200 can be accepted. Prepayment of $20 can be made at the PayPal buttons below, going to http://lasinglessociety.com/admin/articles/preview.php?article=1096, sending a check to Harkitt Corporation (parent company of LA Singles Society), 4145 Nogales Dr., Tarzana, CA 91356, or calling me, Fred Gansky, at 818-342-3311 with your credit card information. Prepayment can be made until 12:00 midnight Saturday night, October 5. After that time the price will be $25 by phone or at the door if space permits.

There is ample street parking on Nogales Dr., but come early to get a close-in spot. My address is 4145 Nogales Dr.
My home can be easily reached from the Ventura Fry. Exit Reseda and go south toward the hills. Make a right at the third stop sign after Ventura Blvd, Rosita. Then make a left at the second stop sign, Nogales, and proceed one mile up the hill. The home is on the right side at the top of the hill.

Just a reminder: Because of insurance restrictions, there will be no alcohol served or be allowed to be brought in to the party.

See you on October 6th!
