My friend, Adam, from the No Waiting Dating Group, came up with a new venue for a dance party that is actually an old venue. His group used to throw parties at this location, 12215 Ventura Blvd. Ste 211, Studio City 91604, when it was called Aura. Now, after an ownership change, some extensive renovations and enlargement of the premises, it is called the Rain Restaurant & Nightclub.
On Sunday night, June 23 at 6:30 PM we will co-sponsor an event there with Adam’s group. Those who are familiar with the old Aura will be pleasantly surprised at the changes. The dance floor is enormous. There are side alcoves for 10 people. There is great lighting and decorations. All in all, it is more reminiscent of a Las Vegas Club than something out of staid Studio City.
We’ve asked our old friends, Sidetracs, to come and play for your listening and dancing pleasure. They have been a steady fixture at Monte’s Restaurant on Topanga Canyon each Friday night.
We’ll be having an all that you can eat pasta and salad bar from 6:30 until 8:00 PM consisting of penne pasta with Bolognese sauce, bow tie pasta with a white sauce, and a green salad with vegetables.
The cost of the event will be $20 paid in advance at the PayPal buttons below, going to http://www.lasinglessociety.com/article.php?article=1093, sending a check to Harkitt Corporation (parent company of LA Singles Society), 4145 Nogales Dr., Tarzana, CA 91356, or calling me, Fred Gansky, at 818-342-3311, with your credit card information. Prepayment can be made until midnight on Saturday, June 22. After that time the price will be $25 by phone or at the door if space permits.
As usual we will open this event to the memberships of as many as two dozen activity groups, singles organizations, dating coaches and matchmakers all over southern California. Our last event, on Memorial Day Weekend, drew over 90 people from a wide assortment of groups and locations. We’ll also promote this event online and through print media. So, don’t delay.
